Traffic Constable Accuses Ex-Corporator of Religious Slurs and Creating Disturbance in Dadar

Mumbai, Maharashtra: A traffic police constable in Mumbai has accused a former woman corporator and BJP leader of making derogatory remarks about his religion and causing a disturbance on a busy road in Dadar on Sunday. The confrontation between the constable, Zoheb Shakeel Sayyed, and BJP leader Akshata Tendulkar has led to cross complaints being filed at the Shivaji Park police station.

According to Sayyed’s complaint, the incident began when Tendulkar approached him while he was on duty and demanded action against illegal parking. The situation escalated when Sayyed stopped two individuals from the Muslim community for illegal parking, which reportedly led Tendulkar to lose her temper. She is accused of shouting inflammatory remarks, claiming the individuals were from Bangladesh and Pakistan and suggesting they should be sent back.

The altercation, which was recorded by Sayyed, has since gone viral on social media. The video shows Tendulkar throwing vegetables from a vendor’s cart onto the road and threatening to bring people in vehicles to vandalize the area. The incident has sparked controversy, with many questioning the conduct of the political leader.

The Mumbai Police have confirmed that they have received complaints from both sides and that an investigation is ongoing. Tendulkar could not be reached for comment.

The incident has drawn significant attention on social media, with many expressing concern over the behavior exhibited by the politician and the potential for such incidents to incite communal tensions.
