Lucknow: In a shocking incident, 19-year-old Anika Rastogi, a third-year BA LLB (Hons) student at Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University in Lucknow, was found dead in her hostel room on Saturday night. Anika, the daughter of a 1998 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer currently serving with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), is believed to have died of cardiac arrest, as per the university’s official statement.
The university expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of the young student. “It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely demise of Ms. Anika Rastogi, a third-year BA LLB (Hons) student, who passed away last night around 10 pm due to cardiac arrest,” read the statement.
According to local police, the incident came as a shock, given Anika’s young age and promising future. Her father, a senior IPS officer, has been informed, and her family is reportedly devastated by the sudden loss. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to confirm the cause of death, and the results are awaited.
