In the run-up to the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 2025, senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia launched his ‘Padyatra’ campaign from the Greater Kailash constituency on Friday. The campaign is aimed at galvanizing support across all 70 Assembly constituencies in the capital.

On Saturday, Sisodia visited his home constituency of Patparganj, where he met with residents and accused the BJP of conspiring to keep him imprisoned until the elections. “I have come among my brothers and sisters of Patparganj after 17 months. They [BJP] tried to keep me in jail somehow in fake cases till Delhi Assembly polls. But due to the blessings of Bajrangbali and Ram ji, their conspiracies failed,” Sisodia said to a large gathering of supporters.

Without directly naming any individuals, Sisodia claimed that the central government agencies had lodged cases against him and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, typically reserved for terrorists and drug mafia. “They attempted to silence us, but we are here to serve the people, and no conspiracy can stop that,” he added.

Supporters Show Enthusiasm

The atmosphere in Patparganj was charged with emotion as Sisodia’s supporters greeted him with garlands. Many women tied ‘rakhi’ to him, symbolizing their trust and affection. Throughout the event, slogans such as “Manish Sisodia aa gaye, Kejriwal ji ayenge” (Manish Sisodia is back, Kejriwal will also be back) echoed through the streets as AAP workers expressed their unwavering support.

During the ‘Padyatra,’ Sisodia took time to interact with local shopkeepers, rickshaw pullers, and residents, gathering feedback on various issues. He assured them of his continued commitment to addressing their concerns and improving their lives.

The campaign marks a significant push by AAP as it gears up for the 2025 elections, with Sisodia set to visit all 70 constituencies in the coming months.
