New Delhi, India – The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested Sanjeev Kumar Jain, the managing director and chief executive officer of Parsvnath Developers, following the issuance of four non-bailable warrants by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) in connection with a 2017 case. Jain, a resident of Gurugram, was apprehended after a team of special staff from the Shahdara district tracked him down over a distance of 60 kilometers.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary confirmed the arrest, stating that the non-bailable warrant was issued on July 18 by the joint registrar of the NCDRC, but Jain did not appear before the commission. In addition to the non-bailable warrants, one bailable warrant was also pending against him at the Shahdara police station.

The details of the NCDRC case against Jain have not been disclosed by police officers. Following the issuance of the warrants, a dedicated team comprising a sub-inspector, two assistant sub-inspectors, a head constable, and two constables conducted multiple raids at Jain’s office in Shahdara, his house in Gurugram, and other related locations but failed to locate him.

A senior police officer indicated that Jain’s phone was put under technical surveillance. His movements were traced to various locations including Asola, Vasant Vihar, and finally to the airport, where he was arrested.

“His location was traced to Asola in the afternoon, but he wasn’t found there. Later, he was tracked to Vasant Vihar and eventually to the airport. After several attempts, he was finally apprehended at the airport,” an investigator said.

Jain was produced before the commission on Sunday following his arrest. Parsvnath Developers has yet to respond to requests for comment on the matter.
