Some villagers climbed rooftops to shower flowers on Nain’s coffin as it made its way to the cremation ground, where his mortal remains were consigned to flames with full military honors.
Kamal Gupta, addressing the gathering, said, “Pradeep’s sacrifice will be remembered for generations to come. Such brave soldiers are born rarely. As per norms, his family will get every possible help from the government.”
Pradeep Nain was the only child of his parents, who own a 1.5-acre land in the village. The village, known for its patriotic spirit, has sent 11 soldiers to the Army, according to sarpanch Janak Singh Nain. Jind Deputy Commissioner M.
