Gurgaon, July 26, 2024 – A Gurgaon resident, who goes by the name Gajodhar Singh on social media, has claimed that his high-end cars, including a BMW M340i and a Mercedes, were severely damaged after a spell of heavy rainfall in the city. Singh shared a distressing video on Instagram showing his BMW worth ₹83 lakh partially submerged in water, questioning the city’s infrastructure and expressing his frustration.
Incident Details: Gajodhar Singh’s video reveals visuals of a waterlogged road outside his house in Gurgaon’s posh Sector 57. In his post, Singh wrote, “I pay my taxes, I pay bills all to wake up one day to see my house, my BMW, Mercedes, i20 stranded and gone.” He added that no authorities or officials had shown up to address the situation, leaving him feeling “so broken” by the turn of events.
Community Reaction: Singh attempted to get a crane to lift his cars out of the water, but the deep water prevented any cranes from entering. His video has sparked outrage on social media, with many users criticizing the city’s infrastructure and the government’s response to the flooding.
Social Media Outrage:
- Twitter User: “Imagine seeing your car like this after paying half of its value in taxes to the government?”
- Instagram Comment: “Such a shame. And the government wants people to happily pay heavy taxes just to get flooded. Absolute joke.”
- Another Comment: “Infrastructure getting dissolved.”
Rainfall Impact: Haryana’s Gurgaon experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday, leading to severe waterlogging and flooding in parts of the city. Residents stranded inside their homes or on waterlogged roads blamed delays in drain desilting measures for the flooding.
Authorities’ Response: As of now, there has been no official response from the Gurugram authorities regarding the damage and the claims made by Gajodhar Singh.
