In a major crackdown on illegal drug activities, the Gurugram police have recovered 762 kilograms and 150 grams of illegal ganja from a house in Nanu Khurd village, Pataudi. The market value of the seized contraband is estimated to be over ₹1 crore. The police are now on the lookout for the suspects involved in this operation.
The raid was conducted by the DLF Phase 4 Crime Branch under the leadership of Inspector Sandeep Kumar, following a tip-off about the illegal storage of narcotics. The police team reached the specified location, where they found the house locked. Acting swiftly, the team contacted the house owner, Ram Singh, at his residence in Daulatabad Kuni, Pataudi.
In the presence of the village sarpanch, chowkidar, and duty magistrate, the police broke the lock and conducted a thorough search of the premises, which was documented via video recording. The search led to the discovery of a massive stash of illegal ganja hidden inside the house.
The contraband was immediately seized, and an FIR was registered under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act at the Pataudi police station, Gurugram. The police estimate the value of the ganja at over ₹1 crore, considering the market price of ₹15,000 per kilogram.
The successful operation underscores the Gurugram police’s commitment to curbing drug trafficking and illegal activities in the region. Efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend the individuals responsible for this illegal trade.
