Gurugram, India — In a significant move towards improving waste management services, Gurugram has introduced a new door-to-door waste collection plan operated by Bimalraj Outsourcing Pvt Ltd. The agency has issued a directive to various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) across the city, instructing them not to pay any user charges to unauthorized vendors who are illegally collecting money for waste management services.
Official Implementation Since June 15
Officials confirmed that Bimalraj Outsourcing is the sole agency granted the tender for door-to-door waste collection since June 15. The new waste management plan integrates user charges directly into property taxes, eliminating the need for residents to make separate payments to waste collection vendors.
Ensuring Transparency and Efficiency
MCG Commissioner Narhari Singh Bangar highlighted the objectives of the new plan, stating, “By integrating user charges into property taxes, we aim to prevent illegal collections and ensure that the funds are used appropriately for waste management services.” This approach is expected to enhance both efficiency and transparency in the collection of user charges.
Challenges with Unauthorized Vendors
Prakshit Singh, Director of Bimalraj Outsourcing, pointed out the challenges posed by unauthorized vendors. “In many areas, different private vendors are collecting charges, and the amount is not fixed. Also, many residents don’t even pay for months. We have informed RWAs that they should not pay to anyone since the new revenue model will come into place,” he said.
Administrative Assurance and Action
The administration has assured residents that strict action will be taken against vendors found operating without proper authorization. This initiative is part of a broader effort to streamline waste management services in Gurugram, ensuring all processes are conducted legally and transparently.
The new waste management plan aims to curb unauthorized activities, provide a reliable service to residents, and ensure that funds collected are properly utilized for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the city.
