Gang of Three Robs Two Men in DLF 5, Arrested

Gurgaon: In a significant breakthrough, Gurgaon police arrested three individuals for robbing two men at DLF 5 in the early hours of Friday. The accused, identified as Tinku, Maneesh, and Sanjeev, were apprehended from Ayanagar on Saturday, with Rs 1,700 in cash recovered from them.

Incident Details

On June 7, a private company employee lodged a complaint with the DLF Phase 1 police, detailing how he and a friend were attacked while traveling from Delhi to Gurgaon. The incident occurred at the Phase-5 red light, where three men intercepted them with a two-wheeler. One of the robbers threatened to stab his friend with a sharp tool, typically used for breaking ice blocks, while the other two punched them and forcibly took their cash.

Police Investigation

Following the complaint, a case was registered under IPC Section 392 (robbery). Inspector Sunil Kumar’s team reviewed CCTV footage near the crime scene and identified the suspects. Tinku and Maneesh were arrested near Khushboo Chowk on Friday, and Sanjeev was apprehended from Patthar Market in Ayanagar on Saturday. The police recovered a scooter, the sharp object, and Rs 1,700 in cash from the accused.

Official Statements

“Based on the victim’s complaint, a case was registered on June 7 under IPC Section 392,” said an officer. “DLF Phase 1 Inspector Sunil Kumar’s team verified the CCTV footage near the crime scene and identified the offenders,” he added.

The arrests are expected to curb such criminal activities in the area, providing a sense of security to residents and commuters.
