Man Found Safe After Faking Suicide, Exposing Domestic Conspiracy
In a dramatic turn of events, a man who had written a suicide note and gone missing was found safe, exposing a conspiracy against his wife and female police officers. The individual, Surendra Singh, had plotted with his brother Dharmendra Singh to fabricate a story of harassment and a subsequent suicide attempt.
The Incident
Surendra Singh, a resident of Ward No. 1, Officer Colony, Tohana Road, went missing on June 26, leaving behind a suicide note. The note accused his wife and female police officers of harassment. It prompted the police to launch a search operation in the Bhakra Canal, where Surendra had claimed to have jumped in an attempt to end his life.
The Conspiracy Unveiled
Upon investigating, the police discovered that Surendra had not jumped into the canal but had instead orchestrated the entire incident with his brother’s help. Surendra had left his slippers and mobile phone on the canal’s edge to mislead the search efforts. He then contacted his nephew to spread the false rumor of his suicide. This act put considerable pressure on the police and created a sense of urgency to locate him.
Statements and Legal Action
The police, after extensive searching, found Surendra safe at his home. They have recorded statements from Surendra and his brother Dharmendra. The case of missing person registered on June 26 has been canceled. Investigating officer Dayaram confirmed that Surendra had written the suicide note on his brother’s advice and hidden it in his grocery store counter. The false alarm has now led the police to prepare for legal action against Surendra for filing a false report under Section 182.
Background of the Domestic Dispute
Dharmendra Singh had previously reported that his brother Surendra was distressed due to his wife’s behavior. On May 28, Surendra’s wife filed a complaint at the Bhuna police station, accusing him of assault over a property dispute. This led to female SIs Sulochana and Sunita detaining Surendra on June 6. The false suicide note and allegations of harassment were part of a larger scheme to implicate his wife and the female officers.
Police Statement
“Surendra Singh, who spread rumors of jumping into the Bhakra Canal after writing a suicide note, has been found. He concocted a false story due to a domestic dispute and conspired with his brother. We will now take action under Section 182 for filing a false complaint,” stated Shadi Ram, Station Head, Bhuna.
This incident highlights the lengths to which individuals might go to manipulate the system and the importance of thorough investigation by law enforcement to uncover the truth.
