Faridabad, July 17, 2024 — Residents of Greater Faridabad are raising alarms over the increasing problem of garbage dumping in the open, especially on roadsides and green belts in Sectors 85, 86, 87, 88, and 89. This situation has emerged as a major civic concern due to the inaction of the municipal corporation. The pervasive foul smell from the trash heaps is causing significant inconvenience to passers-by and local inhabitants.
Sumer Khatri, a resident of Faridabad, voiced his frustration, stating, “The municipal corporation needs to launch cleanliness drives regularly and penalize the offenders to mitigate this sanitation crisis.” The call for action highlights the necessity for the civic authorities to address the garbage issue promptly and ensure regular maintenance of the affected areas.
Streetlight Woes in Narwana
Meanwhile, in Narwana, the mismanagement of streetlights, commonly known as ‘tiranga lights,’ on Canal Road has drawn criticism from residents. These lights, intended to illuminate the area at night, are often left switched on during the day, leading to a wastage of resources. Conversely, they sometimes remain off during the night when they are needed the most.
Ramesh Gupta, a concerned resident, remarked, “This lackadaisical attitude of the authorities leads to unnecessary wastage of resources. The municipal council authorities should ensure streetlights are switched on only during the night.” The residents are urging the authorities to adopt a more efficient management approach to conserve energy and enhance nighttime visibility.

I hope the authorities take necessary action at the earliest.” The residents of Karnal are appealing to the local authorities to implement measures to control the stray dog population and ensure the safety of the community.
