Pay Raise for Intermediate and High School Vocational Teachers Announced

In a significant move, the government has increased the honorarium for vocational teachers in intermediate and high schools. The new rates were officially announced by Additional Chief Secretary of Finance, Deepak Kumar, following approval in the last cabinet meeting.

Increased Honorarium for Intermediate Vocational Teachers

Effective immediately, the per-lecture pay for intermediate vocational teachers has been raised from ₹500 to ₹750. Previously, teachers who delivered a minimum of 30 lectures a month earned ₹15,000. With the new rates, they will now receive ₹20,000 per month. This pay hike is expected to provide much-needed financial relief and motivation to the teachers, acknowledging their crucial role in shaping the future workforce.

Higher Pay for High School Vocational Teachers

Similarly, the honorarium for high school vocational teachers has also seen an increase. Their per-lecture pay has been raised from ₹400 to ₹500. Consequently, for delivering a minimum of 30 lectures per month, their monthly earnings will rise from ₹12,000 to ₹15,000. This increment reflects the government’s commitment to improving the educational sector and supporting teachers who contribute to vocational training at the high school level.

Official Order Issued

The official order for the increase in honorarium was issued on Wednesday by Deepak Kumar. This decision underscores the government’s recognition of the importance of vocational education and its dedication to enhancing the working conditions and remuneration of vocational teachers.
