23-Year-Old Worker Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident Near Pathredi Bus Stop; Police Launch Investigation

Gurgaon, July 2, 2024 — In a tragic incident, a 23-year-old private company worker lost his life after his motorcycle was struck by an unidentified vehicle near the Pathredi bus stop in Bilaspur. The accident occurred on the night of June 24, and the victim was declared dead upon arrival at PGIMS Rohtak on Saturday.

Incident Details

The victim, identified as Tejpal, had gone to pick up his uncle, Girdhari Lal, from Bilaspur after he returned from Delhi. According to Girdhari’s complaint, Tejpal failed to arrive on time, prompting Girdhari to walk towards Pathredi. He soon received a distressing phone call from a local, informing him that Tejpal had been involved in an accident at the Pathredi bus stop.

Upon reaching the scene, Girdhari, with the assistance of the police, immediately took Tejpal to Aastha Hospital in Bilaspur. Due to the severity of his injuries, Tejpal was subsequently referred to Sheela Hospital in Rewari and later to PGIMS Rohtak. Tragically, Tejpal was declared dead on arrival at PGIMS Rohtak on the night of June 28.

Police Investigation

Following the family’s complaint, a case was registered at the Bilaspur police station on Saturday. The case was filed under IPC sections 279 (rash driving on a public way) and 304-A (causing death due to a rash or negligent act).

“We are trying to identify the unidentified vehicle by verifying CCTV footage at different places near the crime scene,” said Gurgaon police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar.

The police are actively investigating the incident and are appealing to any witnesses to come forward with information that could aid in identifying the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.

Family’s Grief and Call for Justice

The tragic loss of Tejpal has left his family devastated. Girdhari Lal, who was expecting his nephew to pick him up, is now mourning the untimely death of Tejpal. The family is urging the police to expedite the investigation and bring the responsible party to justice.
