Tempo Traveller Driver Dies After Assault Following Accident in Gurugram

Gurugram: In a tragic incident on Saturday evening, a tempo traveller driver was brutally assaulted by three to four youths following a collision with a car in front of JMD Megapolis on Sohna Road. The driver, identified as Dinu alias Deen Dayal, a resident of Mangolpuri, Delhi, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

According to the complaint filed by the deceased’s brother, Mukesh, with the Sadar police station, Dinu worked as a driver for a tempo traveller. On Saturday around 6 PM, Dinu’s mother received a call from the vehicle owner informing her that Dinu’s tempo traveller had collided with a white Swift car.

Fatal Assault and Hospitalization

When Dinu’s mother tried to contact him, a young man answered the call and reported that Dinu was being beaten by four to five youths. The assailants had taken Dinu to a private hospital for treatment, where he later died due to his injuries.

Police Investigation Underway

Sadar Police Station has registered a case based on Mukesh’s complaint and initiated an investigation. Station In-charge Arjun Dev stated that the tempo traveller had collided with a white Swift car, leading to the assault. The police are working to identify the suspects, who are believed to be from outside Gurugram. Authorities assured that the culprits would be apprehended soon.

The incident has raised concerns about road rage and violence following traffic accidents. The local community is shocked by the brutal assault, and there are calls for swift justice for the victim and his family.
