Delhi Man Arrested for Beating Father to Death Over Property Dispute
New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a man in northeast Delhi’s Nand Nagri area was arrested for allegedly beating his father to death over a property dispute. The accused, Arun (35), was found in an inebriated state with bloodstains on his clothes at the time of his arrest.
Incident Details
The incident came to light around 2 pm on Wednesday when a PCR call alerted the police. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim, Kehar Singh (65), was living with his son Arun, an alcoholic who worked irregularly as a nursing orderly at GTB Hospital.
Family Dispute
According to a complaint filed by Kehar’s elder son, Ram Bahadur, frequent altercations occurred between Kehar and Arun over the transfer of property. On Wednesday, an argument escalated, resulting in Arun hitting his father with a stick and bricks, causing Kehar’s death on the spot.
Investigation and Arrest
Arun was arrested at the scene with bloodstains on his clothes. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Crime and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams inspected the crime scene to collect evidence. A senior police officer stated, “The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway to understand the full circumstances of the incident.”

Kehar Singh, a retired individual, had been living with his younger son Arun, who had a history of alcoholism and employment issues. Ram Bahadur, Kehar’s elder son, highlighted the ongoing disputes over property, which frequently led to violent confrontations.
