In a significant development in the ongoing Hindenburg-Adani case, SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband Dhaval Buch have strongly refuted the allegations made by the US-based short-seller Hindenburg Research. The allegations, which surfaced in Hindenburg’s latest report, have been described by the Buchs as ‘baseless’ and an act of ‘character assassination.’
In a joint statement issued earlier today, Madhabi and Dhaval Buch expressed their firm denial of the claims, stating, “We strongly deny the baseless allegations and insinuations made in the report. The same are devoid of any truth. Our life and finances are an open book. All disclosures as required have already been furnished to SEBI over the years.”
The Buchs also criticized Hindenburg Research for what they termed as an ‘attempt at character assassination,’ noting that the allegations appeared to be a response to SEBI’s recent enforcement actions and a show-cause notice issued to Hindenburg. They assured the public that a more detailed statement would be forthcoming.
Hindenburg Research’s latest investigative report accused Madhabi Puri Buch of having a stake in obscure offshore entities allegedly used in Adani Group’s purported ‘money siphoning scandal.’ The report has once again brought the spotlight on the Adani Group, which has been under scrutiny for its financial practices.
As the situation continues to develop, all eyes are on SEBI’s next move and the potential implications for both the regulatory body and the Adani Group. Stay tuned to Sarhind Times for live updates and in-depth coverage of this unfolding story.
