Gurugram, Haryana (Sarhind Times) – August 6, 2024
The persistent issue of sewage overflow in Tyagiwara, Badshahpur, has finally been resolved, bringing much-needed relief to the local residents. The problem, which had caused significant inconvenience and multiple accidents, was addressed by the prompt action of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG).
Executive Engineer Sanjeev Kumar of MCG filed a complaint with the Police Commissioner against the agencies responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sewage system and motor in Ward-25. The complaint highlights the negligence of M/s Suresh Kumar, responsible for the sewage system, and M/s Maxworth Infratech, responsible for the sewage motor.
On Sunday, a large amount of water had accumulated in Tyagiwara due to the overflow. Despite several attempts by MCG officials to contact the contractors for necessary equipment, there was no response. This led to severe inconvenience for the residents and tarnished the image of the MCG. In light of these events, the Executive Engineer has requested an FIR be filed against the contractors for causing public nuisance, accidents, and damaging the corporation’s reputation.
Assistant Engineer Ashish Hooda and Junior Engineer Arif Khan, along with their team, promptly arranged for the necessary equipment and machinery from other locations to manage the situation. Their immediate action helped in draining the water and resolving the issue, providing much-needed relief to the residents.
The Executive Engineer assured that measures would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future, ensuring better management and preparedness.
