Gurugram, Haryana (Sarhind Times) – August 6, 2024

In a significant development for transportation in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in Gurugram will be connected to the metro line at Hero Honda Chowk and Cyber Hub. This strategic move aims to facilitate easier commutes for people traveling from Manesar to Alwar, significantly reducing traffic congestion on the roads and improving overall connectivity.

The RRTS corridor, with trains running at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour, promises to revolutionize travel from Delhi to Alwar. The project will include several key stations along the route, including two major stations near Cyber Hub and Hero Honda Chowk, ensuring seamless integration with the existing metro network.

The integration of the RRTS with the metro will provide dual benefits to commuters, allowing those traveling from Manesar to Alwar easy access to various parts of Gurugram. Additionally, the initiative is expected to decrease road traffic and pollution levels significantly. The metro expansion work in old Gurugram is already underway, and the RRTS route has been nearly finalized, with ground-level work expected to commence soon.

The RRTS corridor will run parallel to the Delhi-Jaipur highway, extending the reach of the Delhi Metro from Millennium City Metro Station through old Gurugram to Cyber Hub. Trains on this corridor will operate at an average speed of 80 to 100 kilometers per hour, ensuring swift travel times between Delhi and Alwar.

The first phase of the project, spanning 106 kilometers from Delhi to Gurugram and SNB (Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror), will be developed by the NCRTC. This ambitious project aims to alleviate the population burden on Delhi-NCR and reduce traffic congestion on the roads.
