The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, indicating that light to moderate rainfall will continue throughout the day.
Weather Update: The red alert issued on Thursday was valid until 8:30 am this morning. The IMD has forecasted that temperatures on Friday will range between a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius and a minimum of about 24 degrees Celsius. Besides the rainfall, there is a strong possibility of gusty winds reaching speeds of 60-70 kmph.
City’s Response: While the BMC has kept schools and colleges open, the Thane Municipal Corporation has declared a holiday for all educational institutions within its jurisdiction due to the heavy rainfall warning.
