Kazakh Woman Allegedly Raped by Hospital Employee in Gurgaon; Accused Arrested

Gurgaon, July 17, 2024 — In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old Kazakh national was allegedly raped by an attendant at a private hospital in Sector 51, Gurgaon. The accused, identified as Thakur Singh, was employed as an attendant at the hospital and reportedly targeted the victim while she was unconscious.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning, shortly after the victim had undergone an arthroscopy surgery. She had been admitted to the hospital on July 9, and following the surgery on July 13, she was transferred to a room where she stayed with her daughter. Under the influence of sedatives, the victim was vulnerable when Singh allegedly assaulted her. The crime was interrupted when the victim’s daughter entered the room and spotted the accused, prompting her to raise an alarm.

Police swiftly arrested Thakur Singh, who has been temporarily removed from service by the hospital. An FIR has been registered under Section 64 (2) (e) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Sector 50 police station. The accused was subsequently produced in a city court and has been remanded to judicial custody.
