Karnal: Just months before the Haryana assembly elections, Congress MP Deepender Hooda kicked off the party’s seven-day “Haryana Mange Hisab” campaign from the constituency of Chief Minister Nayab Saini. The campaign was inaugurated by Congress’ state president Udai Bhan, following a massive rally at the Old Vegetable Market in Karnal on Monday.

Campaign Highlights

The “Haryana Mange Hisab” campaign aims to address and highlight the issues faced by the people of Haryana under the BJP’s ten-year rule. The campaign began with a 2km-long foot march through key locations in Karnal, including Karan Gate market, Valmiki Chowk, Old Bus Stand, Ambedkar Chowk, and concluded at Mahatma Gandhi Chowk. During the march, Deepender Hooda and other Congress leaders interacted with shopkeepers, youth, and market associations, collecting suggestions for the party’s manifesto.

Key Participants

Haryana Youth Congress chief Divyanshu Budhiraja, district coordinator Tarlochan Singh, former MLA Sumita Singh, former deputy mayor Manoj Wadhwa, and several other party leaders were present at the event, showing strong support for the campaign.

Criticism of BJP’s Governance

In his address, Deepender Hooda criticized the BJP’s decade-long governance, presenting a 15-point charge sheet outlining the failures and mismanagement by the ruling party. He accused the BJP of leading Haryana to economic and social ruin, citing issues such as the highest unemployment rate in the country, rampant corruption, and a significant rise in crime rates.

Major Points Raised in the Campaign

  1. Unemployment and Safety: Deepender Hooda questioned why Haryana has the highest unemployment rate and is considered the most unsafe state in India according to the Union government.
  2. Corruption and Scams: He highlighted over 50 major scams worth thousands of crores that allegedly occurred during BJP’s tenure.
  3. Neglect of Farmers and Backward Classes: Hooda criticized the BJP for ignoring the plight of farmers, Dalits, and backward classes, and for implementing schemes like Agneepath and Kaushal Nigam that allegedly destroyed permanent jobs.
  4. Law and Order: He condemned the increasing incidents of extortion and open firing in Karnal and Panipat, and called for answers from the state’s home minister regarding the high crime rate.

Call for Accountability

Deepender Hooda called for the BJP to answer for the deteriorating conditions in Haryana, urging the people to seek accountability from the ruling party. He emphasized that the Congress is prepared to address these issues and bring about positive change in the state.
