ED Raids Mining Contractors and Business Establishments in Hisar and Bhiwani

In a significant operation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on Wednesday across multiple locations in Hisar, Hansi, Bhiwani, and Tosham, targeting businesses and individuals associated with the mining industry. The ED teams began their operations early in the morning, around 7 AM, and continued their investigations throughout the day, examining records and other relevant documents.

Locations Targeted in Hisar

Among the notable locations raided in Hisar were the establishments of three businessmen linked to the mining sector and a retired district revenue officer. One of the primary targets was the residence and showroom of Sanjay Gupta, the owner of a Mahindra dealership and son of Rambhakt Gupta, the national vice president of INLD. Sanjay’s showroom had previously been attacked by three miscreants demanding extortion, which involved 35 rounds of firing.

The ED’s operations included raiding Sanjay Gupta’s residence in Green Park and his showroom in the auto market. Another prominent location was the residence of Anjani Khariyawalla, president of the Aggarsen Bhavan Trust, located in Urban Estate Two. Additionally, the home of retired DRO Satish Bishnoi in Sector 15 was also targeted. Both Anjani and Satish are reportedly connected to the mining business.

Raids in Hansi and Previous Operations

In Hansi, the ED targeted the establishment of Ram Bilas Singla, a grain market commission agent. Singla had previously been summoned by the ED due to a ₹40 lakh transaction linked to mining operations.

The ED has been actively investigating the mining sector in Hisar. Last year, the agency conducted raids on the residences of mining businessmen Vedpal Tanwar, Vedpal Kohad, and Surendra Malik.

Operations in Bhiwani and Tosham

The ED also conducted raids in Bhiwani and Tosham, focusing on mining contractors and businesses. In Bhiwani, an eight-member ED team, including officers and CRPF personnel, raided the residence of mining contractor and Congress leader Master Satbir Ratera in Sector 13. Master Satbir Ratera operates mining businesses in the Khanak and Dadam areas under his wife’s name.

In Tosham, the ED targeted the residence of Vinod Hasanian in Gulshan Nagar. Hasanian is involved in the mining sector, operating a petrol pump and owning shares in a crusher operation.

Ongoing Investigations

The ED’s extensive operations indicate a broader crackdown on illegal mining activities and related financial transactions in Haryana. As investigations continue, more details are expected to emerge regarding the extent of illegal activities and the individuals involved.
