CM Yogi Distributes Appointment Letters to 7720 Newly Selected Lekhpals
In a significant move aimed at bolstering the administrative efficiency of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to 7,720 newly selected lekhpals during the Mission Rozgar program held at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday. Emphasizing the critical role of lekhpals in ensuring the smooth execution of governance and investment facilitation, CM Yogi called for their honest and transparent service delivery.
Call for Integrity and Transparency
Addressing the newly appointed lekhpals, CM Yogi highlighted the importance of their roles in supporting investment opportunities and ensuring the timely completion of tasks such as issuing caste, residence, and income certificates. He stressed that the selection process was conducted with utmost integrity and transparency, without any discrimination or need for recommendations.
The Chief Minister urged the lekhpals to work diligently towards enhancing the ease of doing business in the state and making life easier for the poor. He reiterated the need for lekhpals to maintain a positive image among the public, ensuring that their presence is seen as helpful rather than intimidating.
Upcoming Appointments and Technological Advancements
CM Yogi announced that an additional 4,700 lekhpal positions will soon be filled, with the requisition already sent to the commission. This move aims to eliminate the shortage of lekhpals in the state and ensure comprehensive administrative coverage.
The Chief Minister also underscored the importance of using technology to improve efficiency and accuracy in their work. With the entire revenue system being digitized, lekhpals are encouraged to leverage these technological advancements to streamline processes and reduce disputes. He noted that violent incidents often arise from minor land disputes, which can be avoided through timely measurements and demarcations.
Addressing Land Disputes and Promoting Investment
CM Yogi highlighted the need for proactive measures against illegal land encroachments, especially by powerful land mafias. He called for collaboration with the anti-land mafia task force to protect government and poor people’s lands. He also emphasized the importance of timely action on investment proposals to foster economic growth in the state.
Achievements and Future Goals
The Chief Minister proudly shared that over 6.3 million individuals have already been granted ownership rights to their homes through the ‘Gharouni’ scheme. By the end of this year, the government aims to extend this benefit to all 12.5 million eligible families.
Overcoming Challenges
CM Yogi acknowledged the challenges faced during the selection process, including attempts by some to hinder progress. However, he praised the resilience and determination of the Revenue Department and the Subordinate Services Selection Commission, which successfully fought legal battles, including in the Supreme Court, to ensure the distribution of appointment letters.
The appointment of these 7,720 lekhpals, along with the upcoming 4,700 new appointments, is set to strengthen the administrative framework of Uttar Pradesh. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance governance, promote investment, and ensure a better quality of life for the residents of the state.
