Gurugram, July 9, 2024 — The Gurugram Police have successfully solved a blind murder case, arresting the accused who is currently undergoing interrogation.
The incident occurred in Sohna, Gurugram, where a shop owner, Rajiv Ojha, was brutally murdered by his servant, Arjun, following a dispute over salary payment. The accused had fled the scene after committing the crime.
The Crime
Rajiv Ojha ran a shop in a committee in Sohna and lived in a rented flat nearby. Arjun, who worked at Ojha’s shop, had an ongoing dispute with his employer regarding unpaid salary. On June 29, fueled by resentment, Arjun attacked Rajiv Ojha while he was asleep in his flat, slitting his throat with a coconut-cutting knife. After the murder, Arjun hid the body inside the flat and escaped.
Discovery of the Body
Residents reported a foul smell emanating from the flat, prompting the police to investigate. Upon entering the flat, they discovered Rajiv Ojha’s decomposed body. Initially, the police had no leads to identify the perpetrator. However, as the investigation progressed, suspicion fell on the servant, Arjun.
Arrest and Confession
The breakthrough came when the police tracked Arjun down in Uttar Pradesh. During interrogation, he confessed to the murder of his employer, Rajiv Ojha. According to DCP South Siddharth Jain, the Gurugram Police have apprehended the accused and are interrogating him further to gather more details about the case. The police are also making continuous efforts to recover the murder weapon used in the crime.
